CCL takes a multidisciplinary creative approach by integrating the arts and technology to offer a personalised learning experience for the next generation. CCL is an extension from Spring Technologies with industrial experience and know-how in Electronics Test & Measurement Instruments.

CCL currently partners with organisations to present workshops and collaborative projects. We use the CCL Method, a series of exercises designed with the support of Spring Technologies, to explore boundaries of arts and technology. CCL will be home to the experimental lab, providing a space for innovation, multidisciplinary collaborations, and educational programming.

CCL is a continuation of Spring Technologies’ exploration of the relationship between engineering and tools of technology. CCL gains insights to the importance of innovation and technology from her parent company, Spring Technologies, which has over a decade of experience. 

CCL encourages collaborative projects by:

  • Inviting learners to propose, present and premiere works of art, design, games, robotics, music and more
  • Proving space and resources for learner so diverse interests and expertise to co-create and develop new projects
  • Hosting lectures, workshops, community outreach initiatives, public programs, and continuing education classes
Programmes

Program types Programs are categorised into theme and curriculum-based workshops.

Theme-based Learning Theme-based programs to appeal to subject matter of interest. Learners will learn programming concepts and skills through projects and create their own unique works.

  1. Art In Art, learners create animations, interactive art, and other aesthetical works of art. Through Art, learns learn to express themselves through computer arts.
  2. Storytelling In Storytelling, learns use basic coding to make fun and interactive stories. Storytelling encourages learners to tell stories for expression and to inspire creativity.
  3. Music & Sound In Music & Sound, learners use the computer to play musical notes, create a music video, and design sounds for projects. While creating and remixing musical projects, learners learn concepts of programming.
  4. Games In Game Design, students are stilled with basic video game coding concepts by making different types of games. Students make creative decisions to remix existing codes and come up with new games.
  5. Animation Students conceptualise and create animated projects.
  6. Robotics In Robotics, students learn how to control and program robots for motion, speech, light, and interactions.

Curriculum-based Learning Curriculum-based learning correlate with subjects that are learnt in classrooms and institutions to complement education in schools.

  1. Math There are several tools that are available to integrate into the Math curriculum. The stage area is an XY grid, which can be used to teach coordinates. Learners are exposed to geometric shapes and their properties. Quizzes related to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  2. Language Arts Students learn digital storytelling by combining images, text, and backgrounds. Projects related to creative writing, other language arts projects can be weaved in. Tutorials and assessments can be generated and improve writing over grammar, punctuation, etc.
  3. Science and social studies Knowledge of science and social studies can be demonstrated in projects through simulations of real world by compositing sounds, text and images into animations.
  4. Music & Visual Arts There are sounds ready for use and learns can record their own sounds to be used in their projects. Also, change size, colour, and effects can be changed in accordance to their ideas. They can also import their own photographs and images.

21st Century Competencies with Creative Coding Lab Not only does Creative Coding Lab shares the objectives in desired outcome of Singapore’s education, Creative Coding Lab also complements the 4th Masterplan for ICT in Education.

Creative Coding Lab’s multidisciplinary approach empowers every child to be a:

At CCL, we want to keep the educational experience personal and maintain a high level of quality. To do so, we have small classes of two to five students with one to two teachers. Quality education might come at a price,but CCL believes that no student should be denied of learning opportunities because of financial difficulties. As such, CCL gladly offers discounts to those with financial needs.
